Differences of opinion abound this week as Randy must confront George regarding the enigma that is Jean Claude Van Johnson just as Cliff must confront the bar bully, Victor, in episode 16 of season two, “Cliff’s Rocky Moment”.  And as a Christmas bonus, like extra presents in the stocking, you get multiple vocal performances by George as well as a wonderful educational moment on the differences between Karate, Kung-fu and Tae-Kwon-Do. Grab some eggnog and enjoy!! (Review starts - 14:35)

It's Thanksgiving week here at Cheers Weekly!  We have our main course (episode 12 from season two entitled "Where There's A Will"), our pumpkin pie (a fun guest turn by Punky Brewster's own George Gaynes) and even some cranberries (a discussion on the arrest of Borat impersonators).  Gather 'round the dinner table and give thinks for the blessing that is Cheers Weekly! A 3-for-1 deal at Cheers Weekly this week!  By themselves, each would make for a fine evening of entertainment but combining all together makes for a memorable event.  We start off with a rousing edition of Cliff Clavin's "Speaking of..." focused on the most memorable movie quotes ever.  We then shift to another installment of George's Rules of Dating.  And to top everything off...we have a stellar guest turn by Markie Post!  Sit back, relax and enjoy episode 11 from season 2, "Just Three Friends"! (Review starts - 7:25)

It's party time on Cheers Weekly, all night long!  George establishes the canon for current TV shows that reflect the '80s the best while Randy rails against the recent JFK file release.  All of this is set against the stellar tenth episode of season 2, "How Do I Love Thee, Let Me Call You Back".  And as a bonus, George sets a new standard in the ratings challenge.  Come on in out of the cold and knock back this great episode! (Review starts - 12:00)

Oct 23, 2017

A more lighthearted edition of Cheers Weekly as George and Randy discuss the David Angell penned 9th episode of season two, "They Call Me Mayday".  We get a Saved By the Bell callback, a Mr. Belvedere shoutout and the continuing debate between our hosts regarding where Michael Jackson's "Black or White" deserves to be placed in his legacy. It's Cheers Weekly time!! (Review starts - 10:34)

Oct 16, 2017

George and Randy tackle the horrible Harvey Weinstein attacks, provide a public service announcement on parenting and opine on the possibility of Princess Rachel of Wales happening.  All of which serves as a perfect appetizer for their review of episode eight of season 2, "Manager Coach".  All views and opinions of the hosts are 100% their own...and 100% accurate. (Review starts - 17:26)

Oct 9, 2017

This is a very special episode of Cheers Weekly with a focus on two extremes.  On the serious side, George pens a touching tribute on the passing of rock legend Tom Petty.  On the hilarious side, George and Randy become casting directors and imagine what a rebooted Cheers would look like today, recasting all major roles.   And then, like a fine 20-year-old scotch after dinner, they smoothly wrap up the evening by dissecting the stellar seventh episode of season 2, “Old Flames”.  Grab your favorite chair, sip slowly and enjoy!! (Review starts - 32:25)

The results of our Emmy predictions are examined. The superiority of day baseball is posited.  Coach’s ‘new math’ is tested.  And the inciting villain for the entire show returns to scheme again!  A large crowd is in the bar tonight as George and Randy discuss the fifth episode of seasons two, “Sumner’s Return”.  And as a public service announcement, there is no reason to stay up five nights straight in order to finish War and Peace prior to listening. (Review starts - 11:00)

Sep 18, 2017

Andy Andy is back!  And he brings with him quite the difference of opinion as to his effectiveness in this fourth episode of season two, "Homicidal Ham".  Is he a classic part of Cheers lore like Harry the Hat or a forgettable presence like Big Ed?  George and Randy will give you the answer like any good bartender while also providing their picks for Best Drama at the 2017 Emmys.  Plus as a bonus...a little Shakespeare!  Order a double and enjoy the show! (Review starts - 12:30)

A debate about what is the true James Bond canon, George begging to being told he’s off-his-rocker and even a small rendition of the theme song from Wonder Woman.  Come enjoy a cold one while discussing “Little Sister Don’t Cha” and learning who’s provided the bar more magic than Doug Henning. (Review starts - 9:50)

The boys are back!!!  George and Randy kick off the second season of Cheers Weekly with a very special interview with Thomas Kershaw, owner of Hampshire House at 84 Beacon Street.  This was the original location of the pub, The Bull and The Finch, and is the actual building seen in all exterior shots of Cheers, with the pub’s interior serving as the inspiration for the Cheers shooting stage and set.  Mr. Kershaw provides great insight into how his property became associated with the show and its place in Cheers lore.  In addition to that special treat, we get the debut of a new segment called Cliff Clavin’s Trivia of the Week, George providing surprise gifts and a ‘memorable’ example of Randy singing.  The bar is packed and people are having a great time…come on in!!! (Review starts - 46:30)

Last call for Season 1!  In part two of the season finale, George and Randy discuss one of the most iconic scenes in all of Cheers history, give an extended treatment to the top songs and movies during the summer of 1983, and reveal their decision as to the best episode of the season…the episode that will receive the coveted “Cristal with Bottle Service” designation.  Join the guys as they look back on the first season, look forward to the second season and debate why exactly Sam Malone will be walking funny in the morning. (Review starts - 7:25)

As we near closing time on season one, things are getting serious.  In “Showdown, Part 1”, Ted Danson does some of his finest dramatic work, we discover what is The Combat Zone and Randy is near tears as his children fail to appreciate a key 1980s action film.  Pull up a chair, enjoy the bar chatter and learn why George calls this a ‘coaster’ episode. (Review starts - 7:00)

(Review starts - 14:03)

Jul 3, 2017

Only top-shelf product this week!  First, we have Randy betting on George's Oscar knowledge.  Then we have George raising the bar on the Cheers Weekly ratings scale establishing a brand-new, innovative level.  But those are actually just bonuses - the true reason for this being a classic?  An entire episode dedicated to Harry The Hat (Harry Anderson) entitled "Pick a Con...Any Con".  And if you're from Philly...Harry said it, we didn't. (Review starts - 3:37)

Jun 26, 2017

The Speaker of the House getting the best of Norm, Sam pushing boundaries both personal and professional, and Diane facing an uncomfortable choice all set against the backdrop of the world-renowned Miss Boston Barmaid contest.  Where else do you get such an awesome treat than with episode 18 of season one entitled "No Contest".  The first round is on the house! (Review starts - 13:04)

Jun 19, 2017

A case study on bad dates, the first appearance of convicted felon Andy Andy and a rousing rendition of the childhood game “I like you if you like me” are all mixed together into a fine cocktail that is episode 17, “Diane’s Perfect Date”.  And for an added bonus, Norm will teach you how to pep up a résumé. (Review starts - 9:45)

Jun 12, 2017

A very special edition of Cheers Weekly as George and Randy have the privilege of welcoming actor Lee Ryan (Cheers, Remington Steele, Knight Rider, TJ Hooker, St. Elsewhere, Arrested Development, ER, JAG) to the bar!  Lee recounts some fabulous stories from his 32-year career in Hollywood, as well as a firsthand look into his role on one of the most iconic episodes in Cheers history, episode 16 of season one entitled “The Boys in the Bar”! (Review starts - 1:10)

Jun 5, 2017

An extortion plot, a controversial rendition of a Rodgers & Hammerstein classic and the first appearance of THE little black book highlights episode 15, “Father Knows Last”.  Just like a debate on how to properly spice a Bloody Mary, George and Randy come to differing conclusions regarding Carla Tortelli’s first pregnancy announcement.  Grab a seat and decide who was correct! (Review starts - 9:44)

May 29, 2017

On this long holiday weekend, grab your favorite summer beverage, a book of poetry by Elizabeth Barrett Browning and join George and Randy on the patio as they break down episode 14, “Let Me Count The Ways”.   Not only do you get the long-awaited solo rendition of “Maneater”, but also some thoughts on the passing of Sir Roger Moore (the second best Bond lead for one host), high school bullying in the digital age, and the horrible condition of being allergic to cat stories. Start a tab and enjoy! (Review starts - 19:00)
